Description: Miss Jenny Helene Cathinka Kondrup - born 12.11.1851 in Aalborg, died 31.12.1927 at St. Hans Hospital. Parents were Grocery Christen Andersen Kondrup and Georgine Petrea Thomasen.
Jenny Kondrup was educated as sculptor at the Drawing and Kunstindustrie School for Women and graduated 1883. Her teachers wer Marie Luplau and Emilie Mundt. She finished the Kunstakademie in February 1890 (Viggo Johansen).
She was employed by Royal Copenhagen from October 1885 until November 1890. She was a blue painter and her blue painter number was 42. She soon worked for the "arts" department under Arnold Krog.
Jenny Kondrup generated a series of portrait busts and medallions in the senklassicistiske manner. Her figurative works are genre pieces done with charm and humor. Kondrup had a mental disease and went to St. Hans Hospital from 1893 until her death.
