About Kähler
Kähler is one of Denmark’s most significant ceramic workshops, founded in 1839 and renowned for its influential role in the development of Danish ceramic art. During the 1930s, Kähler operated in the transitional space between Art Deco and early Functionalism, combining restrained, sculptural forms with decorative surface treatments and experimental glazes. Stoneware vases from this period are typically characterized by organic shapes, incised ornamentation, and warm, nuanced glaze tones, reflecting both high craftsmanship and a strong emphasis on material aesthetics.
